US Open

So the US Open starts today. Anyone care to make a prediction on the Men's title? I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Roger Federer .Tim Henman may crash at the first hurdle, he's not played much tennis since Wimbledon and Karlovic is a tough one to beat.

On the women's side I think Olympic gold medalist Justine Henin will probably win but hopefully it'll be Sharapova because she looks nice!

If I were to place money (although on this occasion haven't) I would go for Roger Federer and Justine Henin-Hardenne as well.

Andy Roddick could upset Federer with a home crowd behind him though.

Well Henman is through in 5 sets and plays Jerome Golmard next round. He's fresh because he only played 1 set in his 1st round match...

Oh and Henin is through too.

Yep, a tough first round for Henman. Lets hope he has an easier 2nd and 3rd round or else he will be tired by the time he gets to the last 16.

Go henin!

"Tim Henman insists his back problem will not hinder him against Jerome Golmard at the US Open on Thursday."

Yeah but his appalling record against Frenchmen might!

Well luckily Henmans' head to head with Golmard is 4-3 in his favour. Their last meeting was on clay 4 years ago and Henman won. Go Henners!

I was worried there for a while at 2 sets to 1 and 0-3 but he came good in the end 6-2 6-4 4-6 7-6 (7-1)

Next round is either Mardy Fish or Michel Tabara.

"After a changeover, I find on the first couple of serves I feel stiff and there isn't much flexibility there."

So Henman scrapes through again and then gives his next round opponent, Nicolas Kiefer, a handy tip. Henman wins 4-6 6-3 5-7 6-4 6-3.

P.S. On the girly side...Wimbledon champion Sharapova lost!

Hooray! Henman is through! It's a tough call now for the mens singles title. Agassi should give Federer a run for his money and if Henman can beat Hrbaty, that semi will be an interesting one to watch whoever wins from the top section. My prediction is a Henman vs. Roddick final. On the ladies side, Henin is out so I'd have to say Serena Williams is my pick.

P.S. My real prediction is a Federer vs. Roddick final.
P.P.S. I'm starting to feel lonely in here.

Yup, I still see a Federer vs Roddick final but it will be interesting to see how much damage Henman can do in the top half of the draw.

I've found the way to this nice forum

I wachted the Henman-Kiefer match and I'm so glad that Timmie is through ! Normally he would he played our Belgian Rochus in the quarters, but unfortunately Ollie got injured while being 4-1 up in the 4th set And after the medical time out he lost 11 games in a row

When I woke up this morning I heard that Justine is also out, so it was not very nice to be a Belgian

In the men's draw I don't know who to pic as a winner : Federer, Roddick Agassi, Hewitt or.. Timmie ?

In the women's draw, I think that Lindsay has a fair chance

Its a shocker that Henin is out, and in such convincing fashion too! 6-3 6-2.
