RE: Wimbledon 2005

It's a shame to see Henin go out, I really like to watch her play . I also like the fact that she does not GRUNT when hitting the ball. Is it just me or are the 'ladies' getting louder? No shame in losing to Daniilidou either, she has a game suited to grass I think. Isn't she a serve vollier? Although if you listen to Henman, the SW19 courts are a bit too slow for a serve/volley game nowadays.

And talking of Henman...the rollercoaster didn't disappoint today Henman winning 6-2 in the fifth after going down two sets! It's not a good sign for the rest of the tournament.

Yup, Henman didnt dissapoint, a five set roller coaster to start his Wimbledon campaign. Serena just made it through to the second round with a close match against fellow American Angela Haynes. No surprises on centre court as Sharapova makes it through 6-2 6-2 against Llagostera Vives.

Round 2 tomorrow!

I'm really glad that Henman battled through, I was constantly switching between Justine & Tim.

It's disappointed that Justine is out so soon, but I think she hasn't recovered yet from the French Open, and she didn't practise a lot on grass. I hope they won't put all the presure on Kim Clijsters now. But Kim feels pretty happy in London, and she has a new boyfriend

It's a sad sad sad day Seeing Henman lose after such a match

Malisse is in deep trouble, Nadal is out, other Belgians Elseneer and Olivier Rochus are also out

It's all over for another year. Henmania will be long forgotten this time next week. From what I saw of the match Henman was not playing too bad at all. In fact the way he played towards the end of the 3rd set was excellent. I was feeling quite comfortable when I headed back to work.

The British media/public soon found some diversion in the shape of a cocky Scotsman called Andy Murray. He beat the world number 13 Stepanek in straight sets! Quite a surprise! Right now Roddick is looking very strong a set and 5-2 up against Daniel Bracciali. Venus and Serena though in the ladies draw.

Malisse lost 4-6 in the 5th set against Coria. 2 such long matches are really too much with this hot weather I had a look at the men's draw, but there are lots of players in it I hardly know..

The women's tournament looks much more interesting now, I'm already looking forward to Jankovic - Myskina and Venus Williams vs. Hantuchova.

Am also looking forward to seeing the matches involving Serena and Anastasia.

I have some pictures of Malisse if you want them Melissa, I took them at the French Open qualifiers.

Yep, feel free to put them on your site with credit to TennisNet.org

It has been hot here too but this afternoon came over all dark and we had thunder, lightning and rain

Order of play is up on the Wimbledon site for tomorrow. Looks like a great day with Federer, Clijsters, Nalbandian and S Williams on Centre. Sharapova, V Williams vs Hantuchova, Roddick on Court 1.

Lets hope the weather is nice!

It's a lot cooler in London today, 19°c instead of 30°c+. Federer will win and I think Murray will get beaten in straight sets. The crowd may give him a set but I can't see Nalbandian rolling over. There's a lot of interesting matches on today.

I agree, I dont think Murray will win, he may take a set but I believe the match will be Nalbandian's. Go Federer!

Oh, that's a lot cooler! I hope it doesn't rain in Wimbledon this afternoon, here it's still 27° and no rain.. I'm looking forward to the Murray match as well, I also hope Kim Clijsters will have an easy win !
