We are a week into the event and it's about time we started predictng winners! I like the look of Hingis this year, I'd like to see her go all the way. As long as she gets past Stosur there is Clijsters potentially waiting in the quarters. Sharapova looks good. Davenport/Henin looks like a good match up. I wouldn't lie to call it.
Hingis for Champ! (Sorry Melissa!)
On the mens side, it has to be Federer; especiaily now Roddick is out.
Well Kim and Martina will meet on Wednesday, I'm already looking forward to it I'm hoping for a night match as I have to work But tomorrow I'll be watching Davenport - Henin which should be interesting as well. I'm going for a Belgian final, but no sure who to pick then
On't the men's side there is nobody that can stop Federer I fear
Yep, even after today's five setter Federer looks in good shape for the title. He said he was never feeling out of the game despite being taken to five sets. I had the java scoreboard up at work and couldn't believe it when the stat Federer unforced errors = 50 came up in the 4th set
By the way, I found this Sampras-like quote from Federer talking after his 1st round win against Denis Istomin.
"He played pretty good under the circumstances against me. Obviously, I have a big repertoire of shots so I always find my way into somebody's game, especially ranked that low."
Lindsay Davenport vs. Justine Henin-Hardenne is a tricky one to call but I'll go for Henin because Lindsay let me down at Wimbledon!
Federer vs. Nalbandian looks the likely final to me. I look forward to it.
Davenport vs. Henin was a thriller today, Justine was nowhere in the first set and Lindsay kept on making mistakes in set 2 & 3. It was not the best Justine we saw today, she'll have to play a lot better against Sharapova I think
I'd love to watch the Clijsters vs. Hingis match but I guess I'll have to make do with my trusty friend the Java scoreboard. I'd like to see Hingis win because I love to watch her play (sorry again Mel!)
Sharapova vs. Henin will be good too!
I can't believe Baghdatis is still in there, I was keeping an eye on the scoreboard today and was quite surprised to see him two sets up against Ljubicic...and then to win..! wow! I'd never heard of him until he beat the A-Rod. I think Nalbandian will win their semi though.

Well, I'm getting up at 5.30 tomorrow to watch the match, so I really hope it's a good one, otherwise I'll fall asleep again.. I saw that Hingis beat Clijsters 4 times in the past, Kim only won once, so that's not a good stat.. But their last meeting was in 2002 and Kim got stronger since.. It will be exciting to watch If Kim wins she's the new number 1 so she'll be very motivated
I saw the last set of the Baghdatis match today, he's a very powerfull player. I'm looking forward to his semi against Nalbandian !
4-0 to Clijsters...I'm glad I didn't put money on Hingis
I thought that too in the beginning, but Martina worked herself into the match, and Kim really made a lot of mistakes in the second, she did not hit one single backhand ok I think. The third was really tense, but I had to follow it on the radio while I was driving to work But I'm glad she won 6-2, 3-6, 6-4. It will be a short night tomorrow, I'll better ask for a half day off now I really want to see a Belgian final
That is such a shame. She's had more than her fair share of injuries the last few years...maybe she needs to be a bit fitter? It's always a shame when the top players 'lose' because of injury...I'd say Henin is now the favourite for the title.
Federer still the likely victor in the men's draw. Baghdatis doing very well though.
Yes, Kim is going through some hard times, her initial plan was to play 2 more years, but her powerfull tennis causes a lot of injuries, so now she's not even sure anymore to retire in Antwerp in 2008, it may be sooner
