The Nostalgia Thread

Seeing Henman crash out of Wimbledon in the 2nd round has made me feel nostalgic for the old days. The days when the SW19 grass was the fastest surface on the tour and perfectly suited to the serve/volley players such as Henman, Rafter, Krajicek, Sampras, Ivanisevic etc...

I miss the old days , Wimbledon seems to be losing the elite status and becoming more in line with other tournaments on the Tour in favouring baseline sloggers.

Is anyone else out there feeling the same pain? Or am I alone?

I've never been a Sampras fan, so I can't say I miss him

But I certainly miss Krajicek, Ivanisevic, Pat Rafter and even Andre Agassi

I also miss Jana Novotna, I was so happy for her when she finally won the title ! I had a look, and that was in 1998.. I'm getting old

Rod Laver was one of the greatest tennis players ever! Thus my name. I wish I could serve like that... Ken Rosewall was good too. He had a top ten ranking at what, 37? He won the Australian open when he was 37. He holds the record!

Undoubtably great players, I just tire of hearing about them all the time!
