The Wimbledon movie opens in England on Friday 24th. Is anyone planning to watch it? I've heard that some of the tennis is a little inaccurate but I guess that's to be expected in a film. If anyone is interested, I will be watching it. Not for the tennis but because Kirsten Dunst is in it!
If anyone sees it before me, please leave your review here. Please don't give away the ending though, as if we can't guess it anyways!
Some of the tennis stuff will be inaccurate for sureeeeeee Thats what hollywood does, hehehe. Same with horsey movies that I watch, sometimes its like "Hmmmm" but the movie is cool anyways, so I try and ignore that dumb stuff. Just have to not get annoyed with the innaccuracy and remember its a movie for entertainment and not aimed soley at tennis people.
Anyways, Im gonna watch it Let me know what yous think of it after yous have seen it, tell me if its worth it or not.

Nice piccies. Is that Sharapova with Kirsten Dunst?
I heard two people on the radio the other day saying it was rubbish. Apparently it has some seriously cheesy moments. Should go down well in the USA then.
Here I am again, finally back from holiday.. I want to watch this movie also ! But I'll have to be patient, the release date for Belgium is 10 November
It's actually better than I expected. Of course there are plenty of inaccuracies but you expect that in a film otherwise it would be quite boring. The tennis action was quite good really, you can see that they had an expert (Pat Cash) making sure it was convincing. Considering the two leads had practically no experience before starting training...they do a good job making us believe they are tennis players.
Kirsten Dunst looks great in the film (sorry ladies...but it's a fact ) and Paul Bettany seems quite convincing as an ageing British tennis pro. All the players that you see in the film are ficticious but real players are mentioned.
The film is quite funny at times and nowhere near as schmaltzy as I expected. I also expected quite a few more cheezy lines but for the most part they were tongue in cheek rather than 'Independence Day' style cute dialogue .
Overall I'd give it a 7 out of 10 and certainly worth watching...if only to get that special Wimbledon feeling outside the summer
Saw the movie a couple of days ago. They did a good job making the actors look and play like pro players (well done Pat Cash). It was a bit mushy in places but no more than I expected and the humor was pretty good but not hilarious. I would give it a 3/5.
